The Valais black-nosed sheep is a breed of meat goat bred in the Valais region of Switzerland. It is a type of glacier goat that lives on steep, rugged mountain slopes, and its most distinctive features are its black face, black ears, black knees and limbs, and its fur is snow-white and fluffy in locks. The local people breed black-nosed sheep mainly for meat and wool collection.
Although the goat has been documented as early as 1400, it was not until 1962 that this robust, docile goat was officially recognized as a separate species. Each goat weighs about 80 to 100 kg and can produce 4 kg of wool a year.
In the past decade, the animals' adorable looks have propelled them into prominence. And now they're proliferating, purely as a pet.
The breed has spread to Europe, the UK, and the US, and the first Valais Blacknose Sheep reached New Zealand and Australia in 2021.

Aside from their face, they also have black ears, knees, hocks, and feet. To top things off, both males and females have spiral horns.
